── COMMON QUESTIONS ──

Things we get asked a lot.

How often do fire extinguishers need servicing? +
Once a year as a minimum, under BS 5306-3. That's a "basic service" — visual checks, pressure tests, label updates. Every 5 years they need an "extended service" (internal inspection). Every 20 years they need replacing entirely. We track all of this for you so you don't have to.
Do I legally need a fire risk assessment? +
Yes — if you're a business with any employees or members of the public on-site, under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, you must have a "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessment. For businesses with 5+ employees, it must be written. Enforcement is handled by your local Fire & Rescue Service and fines can be significant.
How quickly can you get to us in an emergency? +
We operate across Lancashire, Manchester and the wider North West. For existing clients on a maintenance contract, we aim to attend within 4 hours for critical issues (alarm faults, emergency light failures) and next-day for standard call-outs. 24/7 phone line for urgent situations.
Can you take over from our existing provider? +
Happens all the time. We'll do a free walkthrough, audit your current compliance status, and take over seamlessly — keeping your existing kit if it's in date, or replacing what needs replacing. We'll also dig out any certificates your old provider hasn't given you.
Are your engineers actually qualified? +
Yes. FIA (Fire Industry Association) qualified for alarm systems, BAFE qualified for extinguishers, ProQual Level 4 for fire risk assessments, Gas Safe registered and fully qualified electricians. We're happy to share individual engineer credentials on request — and often the person quoting you is the one doing the work.

Your fire safety. Sorted.
