── COMMON QUESTIONS ──

Things we get asked a lot.

Is my CCTV system GDPR compliant? +
If you're capturing identifiable people — which most systems do — yes, you need to comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. That means signage, a registered purpose, a retention policy, and the ability to respond to Subject Access Requests. We'll set all of this up with you during install and give you template policies to use.
Can I watch my CCTV from my phone? +
Yes — all the systems we install come with secure mobile apps for live viewing, reviewing footage and managing alerts. Works on iOS and Android, nothing to pay monthly (unless you want cloud-based off-site backup, which is optional).
Do I need police-response monitoring? +
Depends on risk profile. High-value stock, remote premises or sites with a history of incidents benefit most. Police-response monitoring requires a URN (Unique Reference Number) and certified installation. For lower-risk sites, keyholder response (via a monitoring centre calling your nominated contact) is usually enough and costs less.
Can you integrate with my existing systems? +
Usually, yes. Most commercial brands — Hikvision, Dahua, Paxton, Texecom, Honeywell — can be extended rather than replaced. We'll audit what you've got, keep what works, and upgrade what doesn't. No rip-and-replace unless there's a genuine technical reason.
How long does an install take? +
A typical 4-camera CCTV install takes one day. A full system with alarms, access control and 12+ cameras across a complex building is usually 2–4 days. We agree a schedule in advance that works around your operating hours, including out-of-hours or weekend install if needed.
